(More customer reviews)This product works as advertised. Easy set up, accurate readings. I really like it. You need to make sure to put the temperature setting in the shade ! If not you'll get crazy hot readings (makes you realize just how much radiant heat from the sun really is).
Special Note: The company is remarkably supportive. I purchased my unit about 8 months ago. About a week ago the wind sensor stopped working, showing depleted batteries. When I opened the unit to replace them I noticed a little bit of water inside the unit. I could also see what appeared to be a little corrosion on some of the electronics. Replacing the batteries, the unit would still not report to the main console.
I called Acurite to ask them about this, since I could see that the rubber o ring making a weather seal was intact. I pretty well assumed I'd have to purchase a replacement, but hoped they would be able to sell me just the wind sensor.
They told me they'd made a change to how the seal works. Asked for my name and address, and are sending me a replacement, by Fed Ex, free of charge. I didnt ask them to do this, they immediately volunteered it. Ongoing support of a product doesn't get much better than that!
